The BP4K battery model name appears on the 5000 mAh pack that listings give to the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the POCO X5 Pro 5G, two phones Xiaomi built on the same platform. Some sellers also name the Redmi Note 12T and the POCO F5, and a couple quote 4400 mAh, which does not match the 5000 mAh Xiaomi advertises for these phones.
BP codes are less common than BN codes in Xiaomi's range, so people often wonder whether BP4K is genuine. It is.
Quick facts
Phones that use the BP4K battery model name
| Phone | Support |
|---|---|
| Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G | Several listings |
| POCO X5 Pro 5G | Several listings |
| Redmi Note 12T | One marketplace |
| POCO F5 | One seller page |
Treat the last two as leads only. The Note 12 Pro and X5 Pro share a body design, which explains why they share a pack.
The 4400 mAh listings
A Dutch seller and a US parts site list BP4K at 4400 mAh and 3.87 V. Xiaomi advertises 5000 mAh for both main phones, and no official source we found mentions 4400. Either those listings describe a weaker copy, or they mixed the code with another phone. When a replacement prints 4400 mAh for a Note 12 Pro, ask for a different one.
Background on typical versus minimum figures is on our capacity guide.
BP4K battery model name on the sticker
Look for BP4K printed near the top of the cell label, with a nominal voltage around 3.87 V and a higher charge limit. Xiaomi labels also carry a serial and the rated capacity, which may read a little under 5000 mAh. If the code is missing or the label only says "for Redmi", the pack is generic. The POCO X5 Pro and Note 12 Pro packs are identical, so a label that names either phone is acceptable for both.
BP codes in the Xiaomi family
Xiaomi uses BN for most Redmi phones and BM or BP for some others. BP5E is another BP pack on this site, and older BP41 batteries went into the Mi 9T. The letters do not mean a different chemistry; they are simply the code series. Every Xiaomi family code is collected on the Redmi, POCO and Xiaomi index.
Confirming BP4K on your phone
Open About phone, then All specs, and note the model. A Note 12 Pro 5G or X5 Pro 5G there means BP4K is the likely pack. Glass covers the BP4K, and only heat plus a suction cup gets it off; have the repairer hold up the original sticker before anything is ordered.
67 W charging puts real heat into a battery. If a Note 12 Pro or X5 Pro becomes too hot to hold while charging, stop, let it cool and use the original charger only. A cheap BP4K copy charged at 67 W is a fire risk.
Battery life and care
Both phones run AMOLED screens at up to 120 Hz, so screen settings matter. When healthy, a BP4K lasts from morning to night with mixed use, then 67 W tops it up before your tea goes cold. An optimised charging switch in Xiaomi's battery menu holds back the final few percent until morning; searching Settings for "battery" leads to it.
Note 12 Pro or Note 12 Pro Plus
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus looks similar but charges at 120 W and uses a different battery arrangement, so BP4K is not the part to ask for. The quickest check is the charger in the box: 67 W means Note 12 Pro or POCO X5 Pro, while 120 W means the Plus model. The Redmi family index lists other codes.
